October Runner of the Month

We have been waiting to put this in the newsletter! Mary Lou Tooley has been on a mission and it has been incredible to watch. Mary Lou has always been a hard worker and put in a great effort at every practice. But she had goals of being a faster runner. She knew in order to get faster it would take more than hard work at practices; she was going to have to reach a healthier weight. She began by trying to eat healthy on her own and thought that this in combination with running would be enough to make the weight come off quickly. We knew Mary Lou had the heart and mindset to run whatever we told her. She was improving and gaining strength, but her weight remained in the way. We eventually got her on a strict eating plan called HMR (info below) and, just like her attitude toward running, she stuck to the plan. Since she began Without Limits Running and with the help of HMR, she has lost 35 lbs. She has brought her 5K time from 32:00 to 25:04-in the Ta Ta's race. Mary Lou recently signed up for her first half marathon! She has commented that she feels better than ever and has more energy! We were so excited about Mary Lou's progress for many reasons. She has made the commitment to make herself not only a better athlete but a healthier person and this is something that deserves recognition. Mary Lou, telling you "great job" doesn't justify your accomplishments! Keep up the good work!
